A Seminar on the US Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) Food Safety Updates and How to be an Effective Marketeer was conducted last June 9, 2011 at the DTI-5 Conference Room. The activity was participated in by the core group of pilinut producers of Bicol who will go on Trade and Business Mission (TBM) to the USA on August 14-24, 2011 to promote pilinut and other food products. The seminar is the second of a series of trainings and capability building sessions for the TBM participants to prepare them for the mission, which will consist of business meetings and company visits in New York and San Francisco and trade fair participation to the Philippine Fiesta Fair in New Jersey.
The consultants of our Business Development Program (BIZDEV), Ms. Rosemarie Kwan and Mr. Abner Villahermosa were the resource persons for the training. The next training sessions are scheduled on June 24 (HACCP Plan, SSOP and GMP Policies), July 12 (Review/Update of TBM Plans and Documentary Requirements), and August 3-4 (Finalization of Documents and Promotional Plan).
